Through the bedroom window

Through the bedroom window thin
brown chestnut leaves stand against
blue winter leeks, and a wren sings.
Its sharpness pricks through the skin
of apathy, transfuses just
enough of vigour from the little thing's
heart to get me out of bed.

Yes, wrens make the best alarm clocks!

Lovely indeed. And relaxing to read (makes me think of Sunday mornings). ;) Brown and blue hues then a song -- must've been a good day. Cheers.

I wanted to say how much I like the colours and intense visual quality of this post and its feeling of awakening. I have been following the account of Tom's recovery as well: recounted with great feeling and clarity, so very moving to read. Wishing Healing To Tom!

Magpies awaken me in the morning. Your words made me appreciate their songs.
