By the
plan d'eau, a particular stand of sycamores which turn unusually varied and bright in their colours, with some dogwoods and others, reflected in the lightly moving water. Hitting the 'I'm Feeling Lucky' enhancement button in Picasa, 'Lucky' seemed to mean adding shades of lilac and turquoise. I can't say I mind.
Yes, I'm still doing the quick and easy babyish thing with Picasa, rather than bending my mind to Photoshop. Though a while back I discovered the 'liquefy' effect in the latter. It's good fun, but it's nice when nature does the liquefying for you too.
Turning round the summer and winter clothes today; I've put it off long enough, though the pullovers look itchy and hot and uninviting. Tom's assembling the new ceramic storage heaters, so we should be warmer this winter, though we've still not had a fire. They often say round here that the weather turns abrubtly at Toussaint, and it did. But we have been lucky; October's been so kind and golden.

Those are really pretty...neat idea!
Sometimes the simplest things are the most beautiful. This is utterly lovely. The real skill is in spotting the light and reflection in he first place and thinking it might make something. Anyway, this made me feel transported to northern France on a hazy day - thank you.
I moved around my clothes today, too! You are so right about the lucky streak of weather . . . I can't think when an October has been so warm and dry.
The "feeling lucky" effect suits these photographs really well. Lovely and watercolorish.
oh that's what the 'lucky' thing means! i am like you too..playing with picasa and picnick as i'm too lazy and stingy to own a photoshop software. i do have some winter clothes tucked inside my boxes..for years..dunno if they ever get worn again..
Beautiful shimmers! Our winter sweaters are now necessary to keep fingers warm even inside. That's shivery cold Prague, though.
Wow, Lucy! These photos are amazing. And I especially love them compiled all together.
What glories!
looks like a bit of spring in the autumn. :)
I'm looking forward to having fires here! (as opposed to the fires in my other home, which were in the hills.)
:-)
Beautiful and beautifully done.
it has a monet-like quality. :-) and i'm all for avoiding photoshop. :-)
Looks as though you can get along perfectly well without PS. M-L implies I'm stingy with compliments about graphic stuff, so here's a compliment.
slinky
sultry
and you know what comes next!
These are beautiful. I love the soft colors and the way they ripple like the water.
What fun you had with Picasa! I was set up with PhotoShop Elements when I bought my current computer and so have always used it -- for only the simplest of operations, however. I don't think I'd have time for major work on my pix and, besides, my pictures serve strictly as part of story telling.
Ooh, I do like those photos. Quite impressionistic in a way. A sort of dreamy fairytale quality.
Thanks all, Ronnica welcome. It was fun to do. 'I'm Feeling Lucky' sometimes has bizarre and gaudy results, sometimes none at all, sometimes good ones. Always worth a click, you can always undo it.
