The watermill at Guette-es-Lievres

I went to the mill the day after the wild weather,

the mill-race raced but the wheel was still.

The air was filled with the noise of high water.

so French, with the steep roofs. A lot of water thereabouts - we're having that here now!

This is just beautiful!

I miss living in the country!

More than 'noise'! That's music!

I know it's "thirty words" stuff - but, Lucy, those three lines are crying out for the fourth to make the quatrain!

Thanks all. It is a pretty spot. The day before all the land around it was underwater, it was still squelchy and silted.
Lee - I wasn't sure about 'noise' but decided it was right, as it made me think rather of white noise.
Avus - no, thirty it is. I can't pare the existing lines back any more to fit another one in within the 30, so it will have to stay incomplete. That's rationing for you.

I am appreciating the editorial input with this experiment; people seem more inclined to get involved!

Such a lovely countryside you have to enjoy, Lucy! Words are not necessary except perhaps as brief captions.
