End of November, just gone

Well, I did it more or less, only skipped about three times, including yesterday, I don't feel any kind of failure about that, since the old days of having to keep up with the challenge to the letter are past. Truly, while now and then I might have felt disinclined, mostly when I got writing and posting I found myself enjoying it, and in fact it's been great. I've so much appreciated renewing the friendship with blogging and blogging friends. I've got used to posting photos as I take them, and using the storage and editing tools available on the notebook or on-line, and to just sitting down and writing, even when it might seem there was nothing much, or at times this month, too much that was too weighty, to write about. I've use this analogy before, I know, but friends are no less dear and important for the fact that, with time and familiarity, you no longer sit up all night smoking and drinking and discussing the meaning of life in earnest tones, but just stop by from time to time for a cup of tea and an idle chat about nothing in particular. I've treasured all your cheerful responses about such nonsense as Yorkshire pudding, socks and whether you prefer dark or milk, as much as I've been cheered and encouraged and comforted by being able to come here and share worries and woes, whether about the care of a troubled young dog or terrible world events, and by the wonderful wisdom and support I can always find with people here.

So, my heartfelt and affectionate thanks, and long live the blog. Here's a collage round-up of the month's posts, made with the iPiccy on-line editor, which is rather fun when you get used to it. So much change in thirty days.

Bravo, Lucy! You are amazing (and put me to shame with only two posts in November). I always enjoy reading each and every one and love your photos, even if I don't always comment. May December also be full of inspiration with your upcoming trip to Iceland, then comes Christmas!

Bless you, Lucy, for your Nablopomo efforts. They were greatly appreciated, at least by this Gentle Reader.

Been lovely visiting all month. When Moby was sick, the last thing I wanted to do was write, but I did, and the support comforted and encouraged me. Knowing you were likely stopping by to read.

Imperfectly done by me as well. But then, I think perfection is not only unattainable, but undesirable. And that nonsense is vastly underrated.

Wow, your November blog marathon is over already? It certainly seems to me like you did what you set out to do, a couple of silent days notwithstanding. I'm glad you did it; made for a good read.

There were occasional signs of strain but then - as you pointed out - that was to some extent the point of the exercise. And in any case the signs would only have been apparent to a vulture like me. Otherwise the continuity of the posts emphasised the easy, conversational tone you have evolved over the years, manifesting itself in the long sentences which have much more to do with interest and content, and far less than with niggling t-crossing/i-dotting. A bit like one of those phone conversations one has with a true friend where once the first ten minutes are out of the way, and the "hard info" exchanges despatched, one settles down to pure indulgence which knows no end. Il vallait le voyage.

Well done on your November "marathon" Lucy. I have looked you up every day and that is something I have not done since blogging was universally popular. Just like old times!
Put my head around the kitchen door and pop in for a "cuppa".
