Girlish
The normally dopey and glum post office clerk is acting quite girlish and lively with a pleasant Englishman ahead of me, who has good French but needs help with something technical. She makes a pun about the desktop pen, which I'm not sure he quite gets, I don't. She repeats it to me after, giggling, and I finally twig.

You've got me giggling now. I've just come back from a walk in the neighborhood and on our local hiking trail. On the way I interacted with the mail carrier...!
I've been admiring your small writing "stones" and am glad you are doing this.
Lovely to run into anyone having a really good day. Puns are fundamental.
:-)
Are these really "stones," within the meaning of the act? I think they're extremely short short stories. (Which I really like!)
Twig? I'm guessing from the context what it might mean, but I have never heard this as a verb. Is it British? Or am I just ignorant?
I speak enough Brit to understand twig, but perhaps my French is deficient. I am intrigued but mystified.
