Looks like a perfect day to me, as well.

I am in love with the third photo from the top- the water cupped around the stone.

I love the shimmers you caught on the footprint photo and on the round window.

This is just beautiful.

Ohh, these make me very homesick for our favourite place on the west coast of Vancouver Island!!

There is something magisterial going on in this and preceding blogs. As if you are taking us by the scruff of the neck and saying: crop, and the ordinary becomes a jewel. Expecting disappointment I turned to Collins-Robert and for once the French are snapping at our heels: recadrer. Of course.

Lucy la Recadrice A sign to hang over your thinking room. I'll do it in poker-work and send it for Christmas 2012.

Super photos. I like the footprints in the sand. Always a mystery.

In the footprints photo, there are two ghost prints of bare feet, headed in the opposite direction - wonderful!

:)

The way that water has with sand is something which you have beautifully captured, with or without cropping, but let us use instead the word composing, and you do that either in the lense or on screen, it doesn't matter

Thanks. I'm rather taken with this 5:3 ratio crop at the moment. I used to favour squares, which are good because they come out bigger on Blogger's 'large' format. The new 'extra-large' is no good when you have a righthand sidebar, it just loses it.

I hadn't noticed those bare footprints Martha! Someone was brave as it was quite a chilly day; everything, sun, wind and the rain moving in towards the end, was very dramatic. It had rained a lot in the morning, but we took a chance going to the beach and it was lovely. It was a pretty good day generally but I can't really remember why! I think we just did a lot of different small but worthwhile things, like in the song. (Only the song's got that ambiguous little 'you just keep me hanging on' line, the introducing tension that creates the exquisite pleasure. How very different from the homelife...)

All beautiful, but I'm particularly taken by the second one.

Oh that is one of my favourite songs.

I have never actually managed to be with someone I want to be with and have a perfect day and play the song at the time though. It never works out like that! I always seem to listen to it and have to dream of perfect days (past or future!).
