Our candle's electronic (it breaks VR's heart) because of my acute bougiephobie but I can stand a photo. If I wished you deep joys and quiet satisfaction might that be too middle-class, too middle-aged? I'll try it anyway.
The candle tree was a gift from a German friend some years ago. It takes a certain size of small candle which take some trouble to stick safely in the sockets and burn down very quickly, and has to be supervised when lit or it can start to set fire to itself when it burns down, so it's one of those life-threatening and troublesome old-fashioned Christmas things, and consequently I only light it about twice a year, on Christmas Eve and perhaps New Year's Eve. But we don't do Christmas tree or other fairy lights, and ah my foes and oh my frineds it gives a lovely light!
Belated happy holidays to you and Tom. I'm sorry for your near-miss (but of course so glad it was a miss). I have lots of there-but-for-the-grace-of-God moments - scarily it seems many of the people running our government here seem not to ever imagine misfortune falling on them except losing an election, but that's another depressing thought. So I've gone back in time a post to your Christmas wishes. And here I'll wish you a happy and healthy New Year!

Happy Christmas to you! The candles here are also alight and it's cosy and warm inside.

Hope it was a lovely one--clearly well lit by candles...
