Blossom

From the arboretum, the other day, windy and bright, where Mol and I went. Magnolia, pussy willow, quince japonica.

Today, always one of the best in the year: boiled eggs with faces on and bread and butter for breakfast; marzipan eggs and the smallest Lindt chocolate bunnies (always milk, never dark, we are willfully unsophisticated about chocolate), in a dish with a creamy pale daffodil and a maroon-purple hellebore; listening to The Messiah; ordering cards from Moo; a chicken and mozzarella and sun-dried tomato toastie for lunch; reading; watching the greenfinches squabble over sunflower seeds; dreaming.

A mild, breezy day, sunny patches and blackbirds singing.  Time for tea and a walk.

Happy Easter, whatever it means to you.

Goddess of the East appears, may this winter Pass over, and the sun arise and bring bunnies and eggs and chocolate.

Great, I'll share chocolate with you, since you leave the dark stuff for me.

Gorgeous photos for a lovely day! Happy Easter to you too!

We had an amazing storm to start the weekend but the sun is now out though it's still too breezy to capture those lovely close ups of the magnolias.

Beautiful photos of life unfolding, opening up.

I hope your holiday was a good one (and by your descriptions that does indeed appear to be the case!)

Happy Easter to you, Lucy!

These are lovely photos. I hope a quince japonica will grow in our new yard. (My grandmother always called it japonica, though usually around here people call it flowering quince. Thanks for a happy reminder of her.)

Lovely shots - can't wait for some more definite signs of spring here. Daffs and buds is about it so far... No choc yet either - we always buy Easter eggs at knockdown prices the week after!

Where's a photo of the Easter Bunnny? Was he too quick for you, Lucy?

Ah, are those fuzzy bits quince? We have some here, but I couldn't identify them. Lovely shots.
