I learned this morning that my beautiful and beloved sister Alison Turner died suddenly today, at the age of 57, in New Zealand, where she lived.
I can't really do this in words just now. Using the past tense is more than I can cope with. So I'll be away for a bit. Thanks.

What a lovely photograph. So sorry. I know from personal experience how devastating it is to be suddenly told of the death of a sibling. I feel for you deeply and my thoughts will be with you.
Yes, it is a lovely photograph.
I am so very sorry, Lucy. I can't even begin to imagine how this must feel. I am thinking of you and will try to send some strength since I do actually have some to spare at the moment.
Big hugs from us all here xxx
Dear, dear Lucy. Bon courage and much love.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Will be thinking of you.
Take care. I hope for comfort and peace for you and your family as you move forward without your beloved sister.
Oh, Lucy, what terrible news. You and your family will be in my prayers.
Oh, dear, dear Lucy. I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I were there to give you a hug. Your sister is beautiful.
There's an unearthly resemblance with a casually included photo that appeared in the Breton wedding series in mid 2008 - causing a double heart-stop. A cruel loss. At fifty-seven life should be close to its peak which means the sense of loss must be all the sharper. Write a poem, but later. Sorry, Lucy.
Oh Lucy, what a terrible shock this must be. Thinking of you with love and sympathy.
xxxx
Very sorry to learn of her demise. No words are ever sufficient to convey what the loss must mean. Wish you strength in your moment of sorrow.
Oh, oh dear Lucy, what a stunning loss, so sorry. What a beautiful woman. Much hugs and sympathy and bon courage to you and your family!
so sorry.. and she was so young
My thoughts go with you Lucy. I guess most of us expect to see our parents die, but the loss of a sibling bites too close to the bone for comfort, as brothers and sisters are so caught up in our own senses of mortality. Go gently and look after yourself. Come to terms with the loss by stages. Try to take comfort in the arrival of Spring. We're all here so briefly. As every year passes I tell myself that each moment must count. Fifty-seven is too young to die. Alison has a lovely smile in that photograph.
So sorry to hear this. Hang in there.
So sorry to hear your sad news. Sending love...
Oh, Lucy, I send my deepest sympathy. Your sister was beautiful and way too young to be gone. Be strong.
Dear Lucy,
From across the sea I send you my love.
Oh my dear Lucy. I'm so sorry. What a shock. Much love to you.
Oh dear, what dreadful news. I will be thinking of you.
xx
Another handful of love and condolences.
I'm so sorry; sending condolences along with prayers to you and your family for the strength to cope with this.
Very sorry to hear that.
Lucy, take care of yourself. I'm so sorry.
Poo. At all levels.
Life sucks sometimes. This saddens me, makes my eyes sting.
How terrible, dear Lucy! How terrible. You'll have no appetite for a long time, but do eat something for strength when you can. My heart goes out to you.
Dear Lucy,
This is deeply sad and so hard a thing to bare, when your sister so beautiful and so alive has died. So think of her with love wherever she is in the universe.
Lucas.
Lucy, I send my love too. I'm so so sorry.
Thank you, you are all very lovely.
I'll be around again in a while.

What a lovely photograph...she looks like a wonderful person. i know exactly what you mean about the use of the past tense...i still cannot, do not, and i've decided, will not ever when it comes to my sister and nephew.
Sending you much love.
Oh Lucy - words fail (this doesn't often happen...) but I'm so sorry.
