Have an hour?

Though longer, with several listenings and re-readings, is better. It helps, albeit in a cold comfort sort of way, you might say:

And I said to my soul, be still, and wait without hope
For hope would be hope for the wrong thing;

The CD's been on my wishlist but unavailable for a long time, turns out some good soul who had it on vinyl has put it on Youtube, the sound quality is fine.

And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And to know the place for the first time.

I shall have to take time for this.

Thanks both.

In fact I'm not sure I've sat down for the entire 55 minutes, but listened to it in sections, or one quartet at a time. Reading it in between, you hear his voice reading it to you. Jeremy Irons did a recording of it on UK radio recently, which was very good and many people preferred to Eliot's own, but this is a treasure, and particularly dear to me.

It's been pointed out to me this is really a very large demand to make on people to suggest they listen to this! I do know that, and in fact I'm not, it's just by way of saying what I've been doing, and letting anyone who might be interested know it's there, that's all. [insert smiley emoticon if desired!]
