Bees and hellebores again

Because you can't have too much of a good thing.

Three good things I am full of:

The King's Speech  - of course, isn't everyone? First time ever in 18 years acquaintance Tom and I have ever been to the pictures together, had to drag him protesting but he came away as smitten as I was, even though he couldn't hear all of it;

Salley Vickers book of short stories Aphrodite's Hat - came in a parcel from lovely sister, whom I introduced to SV and who now always makes sure I have the latest:

Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dances - the first one anyway, ever a sucker for plangent melodies and the slow movement, why didn't I know these before? I look forward to getting up in the morning so I can play it again.

Envious of the sunshine in your beautiful photos.

When I have the time I'd like to join the group of people who are so taken by The King's Speech. (But on the other hand I don't want to build up too many expectations in advance, so that it won't feel overhyped.)

I like these photos; the flower petals have a lovely papery quality to them.

all right, all right, i'm going to go see the film already!

as for the pictures? they're lovely, as usual, and make me feel all spring-like and sunshiny.

Oooh, such stunning photos of gorgeous hellebores and bees here and in the last post, Lucy! I love that dark red one. I'm quite envious at how healthy your flowers look. My single plant's flowers always look so battered and bruised by our heavy rains that I keep saying I'm going to put it back in a pot and place it under the eaves of the house, like it used to be when I was first given it as a gift.

Such intimacy with the flowers this close up. Fabulous.

"Oh, hell (ebore)! Won't you bee mine?"

(sorry)

I loved The King's Speech too.

I loved The King's Speech so much, I saw it twice and would go again if someone would go with me.

So glad you two got to enjoy it together!

These flowers are lovely, lovely.
