Bordering on the indecent - more lewd and lascivious goings-on in the garden

It has been pointed out to me that the orange azaleas really were disporting themselves in a fashion which could be considered somewhat raunchy and provocative.

You weren't the only ones to think so.

Phew.  Was that good for you too?

Lest that was a surfeit of orange, here are some similar antics among the complementary blue geraniums.

While others fumbled among the hairy stems and droopy mauve frills of the comfrey.

~~~
(In case anyone should think that was a lame attempt to boost my stats by luring the kind of people who Google kinky things in the wee small hours, I don't do stats, and don't have any of those things which tell you what weird things people are Googling for either.  But in case there are any bee perverts stopping by, I hope you got a buzz out of it...)
Your pics are outstandingly clear! How do you do it without a macro lens? Talent and a steady hand I think.
What fuzzy buzzers. A super series.
So THAT'S the inspiration behind the phrase "about the birds and bees" ...
I love comfrey. It grew in one of our California backyards. A midwife told me it's good for healing, soothing the skin. Is there anything more hopeful than watching bees in flowers? Thanks for these.
Fantastically gorgeous photos -- if slightly bee-rated. I underrate orange as a sexy colour.
I was just admiring the number of bees in my herb garden today. I counted six feasting on one mound of thyme . . . and they were enjoying the purple heads on the chive, too.
I'm catching up after being away a few days! Love the orange azaleas. I think I have the very same, had thought I was buying reds. But just before they bloom, they give off an awful cat pee smell!?! And what gorgeous photos of the bees, too. Nature is quite sensuous... how ever did the Victorian maidens feel?
Well, flowers are vegetable genitalia.
Very racy.
I just like the pretty blue/purple flowers, thank you. (Much more than the orange.)
Re your comment: my aunt's friend with the much younger husband is now 93, so bang goes that dying-young theory! They married when she was 50 something and he was 20 something and it's been a wonderfully happy marriage. You never can tell.
But yes, I'd probably go for a puppy too. (Not so good at mending roofs, cutting down bushes, etc, though...)
That's not fumbling - that's foreplay!
Fantastic photos, Lucy. I've come to expect nothing less, and eagerly await more, on whatever subject catches your eye.
I love this post - it's a beautifully illustrated version of a conversation DH and I had last year. I'm glad to see you took my side of the debate ;)
