Light and doorways

Three small watercolours Tom did for Christmas cards.  Some of you will have seen them already, but when he asked if I could  put one of them here to wish everyone a happy Christmas, I couldn't choose, so I've posted all three.

So, with thanks and appreciation of your company, your wise and cheering words and presence, may you have light in dark corners, and doorways opening, a very happy Christmas and a hopeful New Year.

  3. Happy Christmas, Tom and Lucy. That table lamp is warm and welcoming. You could almost read by its light. Not an easy thing to paint.

  10. Christmas comes but once a year
And perhaps it's just as well.
With food and drink and bonhomie
    Our tummy's prone to swell.

But it is a chance to tell our friends
    The ones too oft neglected,
    That we're glad they're there
    A friendship much respected.

    Thank you.
May you Christmas be merry and the New Year everything you wish for.

  16. Merry Christmas, Lucy, Tom, and Molly! Love the card, and thrilled to learn its provenance.

I love all your snow pictures! How absolutely beautiful. We've had flooding here, beautiful in its own way, with thousands of Canadian geese on the "lakes" between here and my sister's in Arkansas yesterday.

We move on Wednesday, are up to the ears in boxes now, and I haven't made it to the P.O., but still have that little something to send. Maybe it'll make it by the twelfth day of Christmas!

Thanks for all the lovely snow to look at.

  19. More family skills finished off with a marvellous flourish in the Durer-esque signature. Great decoration for a blog that - Let's keep it to just one word - lives.

  21. These are really lovely. Such a delicate touch, and the colours are luminous. I think that I probably like the light in the window best; we are on the outside looking in, and you are the glowing lamp! I've been envious (for two years now), that Tom helps with the Christmas cards . . . and now to discover that he designs them as well!

Thanks so much for your blog friendship, Lucy. You really enrich my life.
