Its exact location is now unknown, though it seems a town called Mong in the Punjab is a strong contender.

Told you I was tiresomely literal-minded.Lucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09764296105901909328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37070024.post-5207747358363793742014-04-03T12:06:56.945+02:002014-04-03T12:06:56.945+02:00I dare you - I double dare you - to write a post, ...I dare you - I double dare you - to write a post, or a comment, or a re-comment which won't tempt me to respond. Surely re-naming me as a city (with you still strutting your stuff as gorgeous Alex) would represent me as something conquered, subjugated, pillaged or torched. OK by me, not a million miles away from the truth, but ought we to making my changed status public? To some readers of my blog I'm still seen as a god - albeit mainly as Wotan with Götterdämmerung yet to happen. Mulling plenty, but overall aware of how very blessed and lucky I have been and still am.

Robbie - better name a city after you then. Mary Renault's Alexander Trilogy is some of my favourite historical fiction. She made an exception and translated Bucephalus's name to Oxhead, since she felt the original carried too much Victorian sentimentality. I'd have thought the use of it as a minced oath, to which I assume you are referring, though I may have completely misunderstood you lord knows it wouldn't be the first time, was to avoid coarse language? Further references to horse anatomy, pantomime or otherwise, will be avoided. Best to VR, love you both.Lucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09764296105901909328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37070024.post-46349316391148461722014-04-03T09:39:18.445+02:002014-04-03T09:39:18.445+02:00Didn't really want to poke in my nose. That's assuming you don't mind the temporary change of gender and I don't mind being associated with an animal that frequently features in coarse language and is better known for one end of its anatomy than the other.Roderick Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16828395545197001637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37070024.post-38757447459148602132014-04-02T00:48:53.235+02:002014-04-02T00:48:53.235+02:00As I started to write here, I noticed Rouchswalwe&...As I started to write here, I noticed Rouchswalwe's words.
